Back in 2013, the Hyundai Grand i10 was launched and was positioned above the Hyundai i10 at that point. It was a runaway success for Hyundai, giving everyone a cut-throat competition and even garnered lots of awards. From that time, we have seen grand i10 getting regular updates and facelift to keep it standing in the growing competition in so many years. but now Hyundai is prepping up for next-gen Hyundai Grand i10.
This time around we expect Hyundai to present a totally new next-generation model. In terms of styling, the profile of the hatchback was almost the same as seen on the test mule, however, the car will carry a revised front face and rear end of the car. the Grand i10 will get newly designed tail lamp and headlamp.
the test mule was heavily camouflaged but still, the shoulder line, the size of the hatchback and its design language was still a bit recognizable. The hatch appears to be slightly bigger than its sibling the Santro. however, seems to be smaller than Hyundai Elite i20.
The next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 was spotted while testing near the company’s manufacturing facility at Chennai. Despite substantial coverup, Hyundai’s cascading grille that is slowly becoming a signature design also seemed to find its place in this car.
The exterior of next-gen Hyundai Grand i10
The grill on the test mule of next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 was quite proportioned, unlike the Santro. While the shape of the new-gen Grand i10 stays almost distinguishable with the current car. The rising window line at the rear is also a new designing.
The headlamps were quite similar to that of Hyundai present generation Santro though the LED DRLS was still missing in any of the test mules till now and it’s still to be seen that whether Hyundai will provide it with DRLs and projectors. Though DRLs is just an add-on to the current generation Grand i10 in its facelift model.
The interiors of the next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 has entirely redesigned cabin, with a floating 7.0 or 8.0-inch touchscreen rising above the line of the dash. it also seems to be a lot roomier than the present car. The space-efficient dash and slimmer seats than on the present car. On the in the instrument panel, it’s likely to get twin dials and information screen at the center between the dials. power window buttons can also be accommodated on the center console.
The next-gen Hyundai Grand i10 is expected to carry its Engines from the current car unless it fails to meet the upcoming BSVI norms. It is expected to carry the same drivetrain as the current one – 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol and a 1.2-liter three-cylinder diesel.
The petrol engine produces 83PS and 116Nm while the diesel engine produces 75PS and 190Nm.
As of now, only Petrol engine will be offered along with a five-speed manual gearbox and option of a 5 speed AMT (automated manual transmission) sourced from Hyundai Santro. Diesel will get only a manual transmission.
