The Ronin is an earlier announcement from TVS and it Priced between 1.75 to 1.99 on road Kochi. I bet the TVS never imagined that Royal Enfield is going to price the new Hunter this aggressively these are both the top models here and the hunter costs almost exactly the same as the Ronin and it comes with a 350cc engine from the classic and the meteor,
Ronin is powered by a 225 cc engine that puts out 15. 01kW (20.4 PS) of power and 19.93Nm of Torque where as Hunter 350 is powered by 349cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 20.2 bhp and a torque of 27 Nm.
Design
I Personally likes the design of Ronin. Because its styled & Designed very differently and made with a good Quality Elements. We can feel the quality and engineering while touching the body panels.
Nice and chunky alloy wheels , USD fork with Golden Elements, LED lamps also adds a little bit practicality and beauty as well.
Moreover the Engine Area are neatly and well packed with proper elements provides better styling too. The Hunter feels little bit budget friendly make , with its tiny body structure and all halogen Bulbs which is very evident in the first look. The body Panels and the engine room is exposed when comparing to Ronin.
In comparison, it’s actually the Ronin that seats you like you would expect an RE to. It feels a lot like a Classic 350 in the way your feet are forward set and you sit fully upright. The Ronin’s seat is also wider and softer, and overall, this bike has a more comfortable riding position.
Features
Among these two motorcycle Ronin offers much more Features comparing with Hunter 350.
We can say TVS Ronin is a winner in terms of features. It gets 9-spoke alloy wheels, slipper clutch, Dual ABS, Ride modes: Rain and Urban, all LED lighting unit, LCD instrument cluster with TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity, TVS GTT (Glide Through Technology), voice assist and turn by turn navigation.
It Offers Bluetooth enables Instrument cluster which Indicates the Call and SMS Alert, GPS Navigation etc. Also Ronin offers fully digital Instrument Cluster too with a welcome note of “Have a Safe Ride”. But you will not get any of these features in the Hunter. It is the same instrument cluster seen on other model, Digital and Analog Mixed one, Seems like Cost Cutting one though.
Ronin also Offers Glide through Technology which allows you to Crawl in the Traffic in Higher gears which is not seen in Hunter. 17 inch alloy wheels, dual channel ABS, semi digital instrument cluster, Halogen headlight, front and rear disc brakes are some features offered on the Royal Enfield Hunter 350. The Horn and switches on the Handle Bars are good on both Motorcycles.
Dimensions
The Hunter 350 is less heavy than its RE cousins at 181kg but still comes across as the heaviest as the Ronin is the lightest at 160kg. The Ronin also has more ground clearance at 181mm vs the 150mm of the Hunter 350. In terms of fuel tank capacity, the Hunter 350 does trail the other two at 13 vs 14 liters. In terms of mileage, these can be expected to give between 35-40 kmpl.
While Riding…
Ronin is the most well equipped in terms of suspension hardware as it features a USD front suspension system and preload-adjustable monoshock rear suspension. All other bikes have a very basic telescopic front suspension and twin shock absorbers at the rear to help riders isolate themselves from bumps on the roads.
The seats are extremely comfortable in Ronin whereas the Hunter you don’t feel comfortable. The Ride and Handling is better on Both Motorcycles. Braking is better on Ronin. The Major Highlight is the Most attractable one is in the Public is RONIN. Because its designed differently especially with the ‘T’ Shaped DRL on the front and the Golden USD Fork. Long Ride is good on Ronin whereas the Hunter is not good that much, because the Engine Heat is Directly on your Legs while on Long Journeys, and you can feel it when you are on shorts.
Both Motorcycle have only 5 speed and some technical advancement are on Ronin like Glide Through Technology, Slippery Gears etc. The Exhaust Note also decent but we personally like the sound on Hunter. Because it have the Royal Enfield Character and the Sweet Rumbleness too.
To sum up, Ronin feels and looks like bigger in terms of length and technical advancement but the Hunter has the Real Royal Enfield Character though. Moreover it is the Cheapest ( on the basis of Price) RE You can buy Now.
Which Is Better Value?
The Hunter 350 comes with an attractive design but with a features list which includes the optional Tripper navigation system, it is not as well equipped as the TVS Ronin which comes with features like full LED lighting, a USD front fork and a smartphone access.
The TVS Ronin remains the most affordable bike here at Rs 1.7 (Ex. Showroom) lakh for the top-end. The Enfield Hunter 350 has to be priced competitively and would be priced somewhere between the two.
